Since 2008, I’ve made an effort to get away fairly early in the year for a few days. Due to my laziness and poor planning it means I normally end up in Sydney. This year I was organised, I booked everything the night before I left and; well… ended up in Sydney.
I left for Sydney on Thursday the 11th of February, well more like sat on the Tarmac for 30 minutes while the runway congestion cleared then circling Kingsford Smith Airport for 20 minutes. Upon arrival I was hoping to receive respite from the ridiculously hot Melbourne weather but I was out of luck. I decided to take the airport train shuttle to the city. Those who complain about Melbourne having 7 un-airconditioned trains left should spare a thought for Sydneysiders who have to deal with whole fleets of un-airconditioned trains and underground railway stations that smell horrible.
